Sodium vapour lamps

Sodium vapour lamps have long been a proven choice for plant cultivation. They are known for their high light output and effectiveness. These lamps mainly emit light in the yellow to orange spectrum, which is particularly important for the flowering and fruiting of plants. Sodium vapour lamps offer good penetration into the foliage and promote a compact and robust growth habit. They are ideal for the flowering phase of plants and can provide a broader spectrum in combination with other light sources, such as fluorescent luminaires.

Metal halide lamps

Metal halide lamps are a further development of traditional mercury vapour lamps. They offer a broader spectrum of light colours that correspond to the different growth phases of plants. These lamps produce light with higher colour rendering and a balanced ratio of blue and red tones. The blue light spectrum is particularly important for the vegetative growth of plants and promotes healthy leaves and stems. The red light spectrum supports flower formation and yield. Metal halide lamps are a good choice for the entire growth cycle of plants and offer high light intensity.

Ceramic vapour lamps

Ceramic vapour lamps are relatively new plant lamps on the market and have quickly gained popularity. They are characterised by their excellent light output and energy efficiency. These lamps emit a broad spectrum of light colours that meet the needs of plants throughout the growth cycle. They provide both sufficient blue and red tones to support both vegetative growth and the flowering phase. In addition, ceramic vapour lamps produce less heat than other lamp types, making it easier to control the temperature in the grow room.

Whatever type of lamp is chosen, it is important to provide the plants with the right amount of light and the right spectrum for each growth phase. A balanced ratio of blue and red tones is crucial, as blue promotes vegetative growth and red increases flowering and yield. When choosing a plant lamp, you should also consider the size of your growing space, the energy consumption and the lifespan of the lamps. It is also advisable to combine different types of lamps to achieve the best possible light spectrum for your plants. Make your plants happy and support their healthy growth with the right plant lamps.
